Social networks are getting bigger ;-)

(4 posts)

  1. Yeah, definitely last two years were a clear sign of growth of social networks. In all meaning. They still remain the huge topic and inspiration thing for new startups. But also, as it can be seen - "daddys" of social networking are going further into corporate business - they now do software for businesses to build social networks. Nice article/interview with James Sun (founder of Zoodango).

just out of curiosity... does anybody else hear anything about this zoodango? as for the "professional social networks" i can see only linkedin - the most extensive and big one. all others are like small neighboorhods, and nothing more.

  3. I don't know, really. LinkedIn is nice, and I have profile there, and do not have profile with Zoodango. But Zoodango seems to be much more "personal" and "human" one (when you try to look into it), while LinkedIn is pretty much of "business" and "job". I can characterise them this way. What is more professional? Don't know. To each his own. :-)

Speaking on business. One more blog post here again proving (for me) that big businesses are really considering Web 2.0 for them, too. Not more only for startups now! ;-)

  4. And one thing more on social networks. Let's open Business 2.0's article "Startups to watch". Then do simple count of startups which are social networks, and which are not. Yes. That much ;-)
